LSU quarterback Sam Leavitt is off the SEC availability report ahead of Saturday night's matchup between No. 7 LSU and No. 8 Ole Miss in Oxford.
Leavitt is no longer listed
Leavitt appeared as doubtful on Wednesday with an undisclosed injury, then moved to questionable Thursday. His name was removed from the report Friday night, positioning him to lead the LSU offense at Vaught Hemingway Stadium.
The Arizona State transfer has passed for 574 yards and two touchdowns through two games. He has also rushed for 135 yards and five scores, making his mobility a major part of LSU's offense.
LSU has not publicly identified the injury. Reports during the week pointed to either back discomfort or soreness in his throwing shoulder, but the official availability update no longer lists him.
A rare rivalry stage
The matchup is the first meeting between LSU and Ole Miss with both teams ranked inside the Associated Press top ten since 1962. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Eastern on ABC.
The game also marks LSU coach Lane Kiffin's first return to Oxford since leaving Ole Miss after the 2025 regular season. ESPN notes that Kiffin will become only the second coach in Associated Press poll history to face a top ten opponent he coached the previous season.
