No. 4 Indiana did not look comfortable at the start. The Hoosiers reached halftime with a 14 to 0 lead, but their offense had not yet matched the control being established by the defense.
The second half fixed that. Indiana added 24 points, kept Western Kentucky off the scoreboard, and finished a 38 to 0 victory that looked far more complete by the final whistle.
The playmakers emerge
Josh Hoover completed 18 of 24 passes for 273 yards and two touchdowns. Charlie Becker turned five catches into 127 yards and a score, giving Indiana the vertical production it lacked early.
Turbo Richard supplied the most explosive rushing performance of the day with 149 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries. Lee Beebe Jr. added two rushing scores, helping the Hoosiers finish drives once the offense found its pace.
A shutout built on patience
Western Kentucky quarterback Brock Glenn finished with 120 passing yards and an interception. The Hilltoppers never created a sustained answer against an Indiana defense that tackled cleanly and kept the game in front of it.
Isaiah Jones produced the interception, and the Hoosiers never allowed early offensive frustration to affect their defensive discipline. That separation is what made the shutout possible.
Indiana will want a sharper opening when the competition rises. It will also appreciate what happened after halftime. The Hoosiers relaxed, trusted their playmakers, and turned a methodical lead into a convincing final. A 38 point win can still contain coaching material, and Indiana leaves with both the result and the reminder.
