The Los Angeles Dodgers secured the National League West for a fifth consecutive season with an 8-2 victory over the Cincinnati Reds on Thursday. It is the franchise's 13th division championship in the past 14 seasons.

Tucker drives the clincher

Kyle Tucker went 4-for-5 with a home run, two doubles and three RBIs, finishing a triple short of the cycle. His two-run homer opened the scoring in the first inning, and his RBI double helped Los Angeles build an early cushion.

Max Muncy added a two-run double and rookie Josue De Paula drove in a run as the Dodgers scored seven times in the first four innings. Justin Wrobleski retired all nine batters he faced to open the game, and Landon Knack followed with four scoreless innings.

The next race

Los Angeles improved to 93-60 with the win. The division is settled, but the Dodgers still have work to do in the National League standings: they remain in the hunt for a first-round bye and the league's top playoff seed.

For Cincinnati, the loss continued a difficult stretch. The Reds have dropped eight of their past 10 games, while Elly De La Cruz's 23-game on-base streak ended with an 0-for-4 day.
